From Coffee Shop to Award-Winning Chinese Cuisine

Nestled just north of the intersection between No. 3 Road and Granville Avenue in Richmond’s vibrant city center, The Bamboo Grove Restaurant boasts a storied history that traces back to its inception in 1963.

Formerly known as the “Bamboo Grove Dining Room and Coffee Shop” half a century ago, it has since metamorphosed into a distinguished Chinese culinary establishment, garnering prestigious accolades such as multiple Metro Vancouver Chinese Restaurant Awards since 2010.

Amidst the city center’s dynamic evolution over time, Bamboo Grove has stood unwavering, a testament to Richmond’s enduring gastronomic heritage.

While its identity has transitioned from a humble coffee shop to a revered, award-laden Chinese restaurant, the spirit of Bamboo Grove continues to flourish, encapsulating not only the city’s past but also its ever-progressing future.

What our customers say

  • Foodie Vancouver
Their signature silky scrambled eggs pair wonderfully with any stir-fried dish, boasting tenderness and delightful flavors. The stir-fried abalone with scallions is also a noteworthy choice. While the overall dining experience is pleasant, it would be even better if the ambiance were improved with more spacious table arrangements.

Amazing Chinese food. Coming from Hong Kong and having eaten some of the best Chinese seafood restaurants in Hong Kong and around the world, I will go to say that bamboo grove ranks among the top and even better than a lot of that I have had in Hong Kong. Will 100% come back
